Galerie Stephanie’s group exhibition i take a sledgehammer to a diamond invites eight artists to explore the delicate tension between aspiration and reality. The life of an artist is a continuous balancing act—a negotiation between pragmatism and dreaming, where hard realities are constantly examined and fantasies and hopes are simultaneously questioned and synthesized within the confines of an immutable system.

Across the exhibition, a vibrant visual language informed by color and icons emerges. Many works feature recognizable archetypes and figures, familiar tropes, and landmark edifices, all of which are subverted and reimagined.  Bright motifs convey a sense of optimism, hinting at a belief in a future teeming with possibility.  The works embrace a spirit of playfulness  which leads to undertones of  an irreverent impression, subtly challenging conventional expectations and aspirations.
